The Coala Heart Monitor is a portable device that is securely connected to the patient’s smartphone via Bluetooth. Patients start their monitor measurement by holding the device against their chest for thirty seconds, followed by a thumb ECG for increased detection accuracy.
The system is designed to detect signs of atrial fibrillation, and different arrhythmias such as palpitations that clinically trained staff can interpret. Atrial fibrillation, one of the most common cardiac arrhythmia, is most easily detected by ECG measurement over time, as atrial fibrillation often occurs irregularly.
The monitor records your heart's electrical impulses in real-time with an ECG and the mechanical sound of your heart valves via the integrated stethoscope.
